OHSAS 18001 Occupational safety
The OHSAS 18001 certification (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) sets the requirements that companies must have in order for their workers to operate in safe conditions.
The OHSAS 18001 management and organizational system is recognized and referred to in the Consolidated Law on Security 81/2008, as an organization and management model suitable for having effective exemption from administrative liability (Legislative Decree 231/2001). In addition, INAIL recognizes the OHSAS 18001 management systems as sufficient elements to achieve the reduction of insurance premiums.
The advantages for companies that choose to become OHSAS certified are manifold:
-
limit and limit the employer's responsibilities for safety,
-
benefit from concessions in financing procedures,
-
reduce insurance premiums and enjoy other benefits to verify and maintain legislative compliance,
-
eliminate or reduce the risk of being subjected to sanctions,
-
reduce and manage risks for workers,
-
contain costs related to incorrect security management,
-
simplify the relationship with the competent authorities,
-
improve the corporate image towards customers and end users.
Obtaining the certification of the safety management system in compliance with the OHSAS 18001 standard represents for the company management the guarantee of achieving an important growth and development objective of its company.
